Proposed DEVELOPMENT - NEWARK RIVERFRONT

These drawings were done by gridding a map and then transferring the footprints of the existing buildings to another grid drawn in perspective (faster & easier than it sounds) to ensure proper placement of buildings, roadways and shoreline. Drawings like these can be used as first step presentation to get ideas approved before moving on to more technically accurate ( but slower and more expensive) CAD renditions. The next 8 drawings are variations on what might be done on the land by building a bridge between NJPAC and the river. Done for Edwards & Kelcey Inc. (now Jacobs).

ESCALATOR PROTECTED

The greenhouse type of building protects the entrance to the elevator and could possibly hold a small market. The little tower is the upper door to an elevator.

ESSEX COUNTY ENVIRONMENTAL CENTER

It now exists looking very much like this. ( As far as I can tell from the ground. ) It was done from the architect's side elevations which he had colored and an overhead view. There were also snapshots of the land before it was built.
Line art reduced on paper and hand colored. Grey on parking area added in Photoshop.

PROPOSED BRIDGE

Done from aerial photographs and maps with direction from an engineering consultant. After line art is checked and approved it is then printed and hand colored on paper. ( The parts shown in red outline on the lower right side are water drainage systems which would not be visible in reality.

MAKEOVER

The stucco makeover of a previously clapboard house in the Italian style. I took on the task of making the upstairs windows appear evenly spaced and maintaining the look of the third story in the Tuscan style. The railing added on the roof is half as high as the railing that already ran along the porch tops: It imitates perspective to make the building seem taller. Most of this redesigning is mine.

STREET DRAIN WATER FILTER

Rainwater from street drains is filtered and run back into the river in a promenade setting. The building now exists but the promenade doesn't.
I had a bad printout to work with, had to Photoshop it a bit,
